Traffic Offenders Intervention Program

We have senior traffic lawyers who have lectured all around NSW in the traffic offenders program, with over 20 years in court expert experience and knowledge in traffic law.

After pleading guilty or being found guilty of a traffic offence, a completed traffic offenders program allows the Judge or Magistrate to consider a more appropriate and often lenient punishment. After completing the program, they will report directly back to the Court, usually by fax or email.

FAQ

The Traffic Offenders Program is an intervention program for 1 day, or 7 weeks, depending on which one you enrol into, specifically to increase your awareness of illegal driving in an attempt to increase your knowledge of legal and real life consequences of dangerous driving. It also serves to reduce offending and provide a safer environment on Australian roads. Successfully completing this program generally results in a more lenient court result.

You can be referred to the program by your traffic lawyer, the Court, or self-referral.

There are a limited number of court recognised accredited programs out there, and it’s vital you enrol into a program the Magistrate or Judge will actually acknowledge, otherwise, it may have no effect to your court result.

The following are some of the accredited programs you can enrol into:

  • Road Sense Australia 1 day course M: 0466 184 738
  • Traffic Offenders Rehabilitation Program 1 day course M: 0426 994 769
  • PCYC Traffic Offenders Intervention Program 7 week course T: 9625 9111

The PCYC program goes for 7 weeks requiring you to attend once a week over the seven weeks. They have over 50 locations in urban and regional areas.

Completion of an approved traffic offenders program before your case is dealt with allows the Magistrate or Judge to give you a more lenient outcome, putting you steps closer to avoiding a licence disqualification and conviction.

Our Senior traffic lawyers highly recommend doing this program if you fall in any of the below categories:

  • Drink driving
  • Speeding
  • Licencing offences i.e. driving unlicensed, drive while disqualified or suspended
  • Dangerous or negligent driving
  • Not wear helmet or seatbelt offences, habitual offender declarations and RMS licence appeals

Majority of people who attend the program are for drink driving offences.

The topics covered in the program include the following:

  • Road safety
  • Drink and drug driving
  • Ambulance workers, police, insurance, victims and their families perspectives
  • Alcohol and drug education
  • Legal consequences of traffic offences
  • Maintenance of safe motor vehicles

Some accredited courses go for 1 day while others go for between 7-10 weeks with each session going for about 1-2 hours once a week in the evenings.

The cost of the program varies from about $150 to $200 as a one off payment to the program you enrol into.

It is a good idea to leave some things to the experts. Especially if the consequences can impact on your job, livelihood and family dependants and commitments.

Our senior traffic lawyers regularly appear in court for traffic offences, with an exceptional proven track record of getting outstanding results in court. In recognition of being one of the best leading traffic lawyers in Sydney, they have appeared countless times on channel 10, 9, 7, Sydney morning herald, radio interviews and SBS for their expert opinions and views on the law.
