Mid-north coast tradie and accused drug dealer allegedly recruited three Bandidos bikies to help him bash a rival who he claims was selling “crack to kids”.
Court documents reveal details of the alarming home invasion — which left the alleged victim bruised and bleeding — emerged during a 2023 police investigation into the supply of drugs by members of the Bandidos’ north coast chapter.
It is alleged detectives attached to Strike Force Showview identified commercial painter Dean Bull as a close associate of the outlaw motorcycle gang, with secret phone taps revealing his involvement in a series of cannabis and cocaine deals carried out by the group in July last year.
Documents tendered to the NSW Supreme Court during Bull’s recent bail application claim a few months later Bull began developing an animosity towards a local drug dealer and allegedly sought the help of the Bandidos to attack the man.
“His name is [redacted] bro, some methodonian (sic), he’s got glasses,” Bull was allegedly overheard telling a co-accused over the phone in early October.
“He’s like the biggest crack dealing grub, every c**t just wants him gone hey … giving crack and that to kids.”
The court heard Bull and the three Bandidos, along with a female, allegedly bashed the man inside the garage of his home on the afternoon of October 16.
Neighbours alerted to the melee contacted emergency services, who arrived a short time later.
Court documents said the complainant and his father were reluctant to assist police due to fears of reprisal, but confirmed some of the alleged attackers had been wearing Bandidos clothing.
The court heard police will allege Bull was also involved in a plan to viciously assault another man a few weeks later – this time at the request of the Bandidos.
However, police said there was no evidence the assault actually occurred.
Police raided Bull’s home in November, seizing five grams of cannabis, however the 27-year-old was not formally arrested until March 18. He was charged with a host of offences including aggravated enter dwelling with intent, conspiracy to assault in company and drug supply, and remanded in custody.
During his bid for bail, Bull’s lawyer Talal Krayem told the court his client was the sole income earner in his family, as his partner had just given birth to the couple’s first child.
He said Bull would agree to abide by a raft of conditions including a night-time curfew and daily reporting to Urunga Police Station.
