{"id":6708,"date":"2026-03-03T08:53:03","date_gmt":"2026-03-03T08:53:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/krayemandco.com.au\/staging2026\/?p=6708"},"modified":"2026-04-11T04:12:58","modified_gmt":"2026-04-11T04:12:58","slug":"serious-indictable-offence-defense-sydney","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/krayemandco.com.au\/staging2026\/serious-indictable-offence-defense-sydney\/","title":{"rendered":"Sydney man charged with murder of Melbourne underworld figure Gavin Preston"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A man accused of murdering underworld figure Gavin Preston in a daylight cafe shooting has faced court just hours after he was extradited from Sydney.<\/p>\n<p>Jaeden Tito, a 22-year-old tradie, appeared before the Melbourne Magistrates\u2019 Court on Thursday \u2013 a day after his arrest in an early morning raid in Sydney\u2019s outer southwest.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Tito has been accused of murdering Preston at the crowded Sweet Lulu\u2019s cafe in Keilor shortly after 10am on September 9.<\/p>\n<p>He did not speak as he was led into the courtroom flanked by custody officers shortly after 5pm, with his lawyer Talal Krayem saying no application for bail would be made \u201cpresently\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>A police prosecutor requested a \u201clonger than usual\u201d adjournment given the complexity of the case, saying investigators were waiting for \u201coutstanding\u201d DNA and forensic evidence.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Tito spoke to say \u201cyes\u201d when asked if this was his first time in custody.<\/p>\n<p>He was remanded into custody ahead of his next court appearance in March.<\/p>\n<p>Preston, known by the moniker \u2018Capable\u2019, was a long-term figure in Victoria\u2019s gangland circles and had been released from prison earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p>He had served his time for the 2012 \u201cdefensive homicide\u201d shooting of drug trafficker Adam Khoury.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A man accused of murdering underworld figure Gavin Preston in a daylight cafe shooting has faced court just hours after he was extradited from Sydney.
