A 22-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy have been charged over a drive-by shooting on a home belonging to an innocent elderly couple in Sydney\u2019s south-west, which was filmed and posted online.<\/p>\n
Chilling footage captured the moment a gunman opened fire on the Bossley Park home before fleeing the scene in a white Audi that was crashed and abandoned two blocks from the address.<\/p>\n
A volley of shots was fired into the house on Aberdeen Street about 6.30am on Friday, sparking a substantial manhunt into the afternoon. No one was injured in the shooting.<\/p>\n
Friday morning\u2019s shooting was the second time the property had been targeted in 48 hours. A single bullet hit a caravan outside the home in one of three shootings on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n
A video shared online captures the Audi driver shouting \u201csay hello to my little friend\u201d, invoking a line popularised by Al Pacino in Scarface, as the gunman opens fire through the rear passenger seat window.<\/p>\n
They both exclaim as nearly two dozen shots ring out in the suburban street, with bullet casings flying through the vehicle before the gunman urges the driver to speed away.<\/p>\n
The vehicle crashed at the nearby intersection of Mimosa Road and Prairie Vale Road on Friday morning, and the driver and gunman fled on foot.<\/p>\n
After searching the Audi, police seized the automatic firearm, which will now be forensically examined.<\/p>\n
On Friday afternoon, investigators arrested a 22-year-old man at a home in Woodville Road, Fairfield East, and seized a shortened calibre rifle, ammunition and mobile phones.<\/p>\n
Manyang Manyang was taken to Cabramatta Police Station and charged with firing at the home and participating in a criminal group.<\/p>\n
He was refused bail to appear in court on Saturday, where he did not apply for bail. He will appear at Parramatta Local Court in January.<\/p>\n
Investigators also picked up a 16-year-old boy during a vehicle stop in Leppington on Friday night.<\/p>\n
The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was charged with firing into the home, participating in a criminal group and being a passenger in a stolen car.<\/p>\n
He was refused bail to appear in the Children\u2019s Court on Saturday.<\/p>\n
Detective Superintendent Craig Middleton said the elderly couple living in the home are innocent and law-abiding citizens, and have been left \u201cvery upset and traumatised\u201d by the two attacks.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey\u2019ve lived there the majority of their lives with their grandson, and this is obviously very shocking for them and their community.\u201d<\/p>\n
NSW Police Commissioner Mal Lanyon said gun violence in the city\u2019s west was \u201cdefinitely not out of hand\u201d, and that cracking down on organised crime remained a top priority for police.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve made significant arrests. We will not stand for the type of violence you are seeing there,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
It is unclear if the weapon seized on Friday was used in any of Sydney\u2019s recent shootings.<\/p>\n
The second shooting on the Bossley Park home follows three similar incidents in Sydney\u2019s south-west on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n
